To every family in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the counties around us who are living with FASD: you are not alone.
The Peterborough & Cambridgeshire Family FASD Support Group exists because parents, kinship carers, adopters and foster carers were being told to wait, or being told there was nothing available.
We share practical strategies, we help people prepare for meetings and assessments, and we sit alongside families who are exhausted.
We get it. Everyone in the support group has lived experience. There are over 140 members. We are proud to have members who have FASD, who are birth parents, kinship carers, foster carers, special guardians and adopters.
Our membership reaches out to others in the East of England and East Midlands. We are self-funded, but it would be nice if the local public bodies that identified FASD as a need for 3% of the population funded us a little, but we can’t wait for them to catch up with their own assessments!
In addition to the support, information, advice and guidance, we also raise awareness of the risk of prenatal alcohol exposure and the implications of having FASD.
We will work with all organisations to improve the life changes of those with FASD, the quality of life for any type of families affected and to reduce the prevalence of FASD. We work closely with Cambridgeshire Pinpoint, Both the Virtual Schools in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, the Regional Adoption Agency and local SEND advocacy groups. We are also building links to local MPs in the County & City and with senior officials in the Integrated Care Board.

In June 2026, the Charity published an in depth look at the cost of FASD in the UK. professional AI software was used to interrogate available national data so that a detailed report could be written about the impact of FASD to the UK.
